How To Use This Site . . .

We use PDF files extensively.  You will need to have a reader to be able to read them.  To the right, is the official Adobe Reader and it is free.  Just download it to your computer.  Since we do not know what operating system you are using, the next screen will allow you to choose which reader you need.

Welcome to the MAS Advisory Services, Inc. Information Center.  We have compiled and continue to compile those hard to find items relative to your business, personal life, as well as a few entertainment muses that we found interesting.  The web site for MAS is much like any other site.  An introduction on the home page, an about-meet the team page which tells you a bit about MAS and its employees, a way for you to contact us either via a secure form or by email, our local partners, how to find us, and lastly the e-store.  The best part of our web site is the Information Center.  That is where you are now.

We do what we can to keep you within the site as much as possible.  That way you can take in everything we offer.  However, occasionally, due to the way other web sites are constructed, you might flip into a new window or tab (browser dependant).  If it all works correctly, our site is still turned 'on' so all you have to do is close the tab/window to the other site and the MAS site is still there in your browser.  How cool is that?

MENU STRUCTURE

To the left is our menu structure for the Info Center.  Our goal has always been to minimize the number of mouse clicks so you can get to the information as quickly as possible.  Now, with that said, there are going to be some sites we direct you to that will put up a number of roadblocks to that goal.  Due to legal issues such as copyright legislation, treaties, and other similar processes, we cannot simply copy and paste the information.  Instead, we use a technology defined by i-frames.  When you make a menu selection, some pages we have created and are part of our web site will come into a window similar to this one.  At other times, we will call for the external web site to serve up a specific page to this window.  As mentioned previously, some web sites won't let us do that and they force your browser into a new browser tab or a completely new window.  We try to keep those situations to a minimum.

We employ PDF technology as well.  All PDFs should display in this window if it is on our site.

The menu system is rather unique.  It is accordion style.  You open the accordion by placing your mouse over the dark band.  Then click with the left key.  That section will open.  You could, for instance, close the section before moving to the next session; however that isn't necessary, as when you move to the next section, the previous section will close automatically.  The rest is intuitive.

SCROLL BARS

Because we are using i-frame technology, there could be two to three scroll bars.

The first vertical scroll bar (the one that goes up and down) will control the outside page or the overall page.  Some browser will display that scroll bar in colors.  Firefox and some others will not.

The second vertical scroll bar (if it shows) will control the scroll effect of the i-frame.  And sometimes, depending on your monitor and screen resolutions, you may have to use the main page or outer scroll bar to get to the bottom of the window for the horizontal scroll bar on the i-frame.

Not all web sites will fit into the i-frame which is why there is a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the i-frame.  We figured you wanted to get to the information which generally shows on the left to the middle of most web site pages.  And, if you want to go more in-depth on that web site page, you can scroll to the right and back to the left.   It's better to do it on the i-frame because not every web site page is programmed for your monitor.

GENERAL PRINTING

Printing of the i-frame page is easy.  Sending it to your email address is also easy.  And if you do not have Adobe Reader, we have simplified that as well for most pages that we can control.

There are two ways you can print something in the i-frame.  For PCs, place your cursor within the i-frame and do either a right mouse click.  A separate menu should pop up with the print function.  Now we know, depending on the printer and printer driver you have installed that all pages should fit on a standard width of paper - 8 inches to 8¼ inches wide.   If the i-frame page is super wide, you can set your printer driver to landscape mode which is 10½ inches wide for printing.  For MACs, I believe you can do something similar.

The alternative is (after you place your cursor in the i-frame) to either do a ctrl-P on the PC or Apple-P on the Apple computers.  You press and hold the first key while you tap the second key (P) then release the first key.  That should bring up your print menu.

Similar functions exist for the Linux and Unix systems as well as most other browsers and operating systems.

PDF PRINTING

Printing for PDFs is relatively simple.  PDFs present you with menus to let you do whatever you want to do.
